Resources

Setup → Resources — rooms, chairs, vehicles, courts — anything a booking consumes. Needs catalog:read; creating and editing needs catalog:manage. The Resource booking feature must be switched on, otherwise the page and its sidebar entry are hidden (see Configuration → Features).

The list​

Columns: Name, Type, Capacity and Description. Active only hides deactivated resources and Deactivate retires one (after a confirmation) without losing its history.

The form​

  • Name, Code, Type and Description.
  • Capacity — 1 is exclusive: one booking at a time. Above 1 the resource is shared, which is how a ten-seat studio differs from a single treatment room.
  • Active.
  • Availability → Available at — the locations the resource exists at, or Every location.

How resources are used​

A service decides whether it requires a resource and how one is assigned (see Services). When it does, the engine only offers a time when a resource of the right type, at that location, is free. A meeting-room business typically has resources and no staff: the customer picks the room.
